About BLCK
Building environmental data infrastructure for East Africa since 2021.
Who We Are
BLCK IoT is a German-Kenyan company founded in 2021. We operate one of East Africa's most extensive environmental monitoring networks—130 weather stations and 60 LoRaWAN gateways spanning from the highlands of Kericho to the coast at Kilifi.
What We Do
We deploy hyperlocal environmental sensors for agriculture, conservation, and research. Our network collects temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind, solar radiation, and UV data—updated every 2 minutes, specific to your location.
Founders
Bradley Azegele and Stephan Seider lead BLCK's operations across Germany and Kenya. Our work has been published in Frontiers in Blockchain, validating the methodology we developed during the Ostrom project pilot in Nairobi.
Our Focus
We serve flower farms, tea estates, dairy operations, conservation areas, and research institutions. Our clients use hyperlocal weather data to optimize irrigation, plan labor, and improve yields.
Infrastructure: Our network runs on LoRaWAN via the Helium network—low power, long range, no SIM cards or recurring telecom fees.
